Why explore life on other planets when life on earth is at risk?

I have read many articles on space, people’s enthusiasm to know more about other planets, whether life exists there or not. Just finding water there or able to grow vegetables makes us very happy. But stop, can’t we do much more than growing vegetables on planet earth?

For sure, there will be more discoveries in future such as growing more crops, build houses and many more but it will take time and will ask for huge investments. Are we ready for that? The answer is no, we are not. We are already facing end number of problems such as climate change, global warming, war like situations, income disparities, etc. on planet earth and on top of that COVID steals the show and who knows this is just the beginning of many more pandemics in future. Shouldn’t we solve these problems first? But no, who cares, funds and powers are highly concentrated in the hands of few who give a damn shit to all that we are concerned with in this article. They are more interested in booking their house or visit to other planets. It is such people who if try can divert some funds towards solving aforementioned problems.

Political parties are more concerned in increasing their vote base and doing all that is in their interest or nation’s interest and may not be in environment’s interest.

When we lose lacs and crores, millions and billions in floods, storms, hurricanes, tsunamis, earthquakes then why don’t we change? The reason is simple we lack long term planning. We are busy making money and not realizing environment’s loss will affect them in future.

I strongly believe that those who earn billions should rather divert funds towards solving climate change problems rather than planning a temporary or permanent stay on other planets as all the facilities one gets on planet earth will never be possible on other planets plus all that is happening to planet earth is somewhere because of our wrongdoings and therefore it is our responsibility to correct things before its too late else future generations will never forgive us and we will end up ruining everything.
